Clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with hip shaking method on sacroiliac joint dysfunction
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with hip shaking method on sacroiliac joint dysfunction(SIJD).Methods A total of 96 SIJD patients were randomly assigned into treatment group(n=48)and con-trol group(n=48).All patients were managed by acupuncture, and those in treatment group were additionally treated with hip shaking method. The treatment continued for 4 courses(1 course for 1 week),the aim was to compare Numerical Rating Scale(NRS)score,Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire(RMDQ)score,Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)score, lumbar range of motion(LROM).The curative effect was assessed. Results The excellent rate in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(87.50%[42/48]vs 70.83%[34/48],P<0.05).The scores of NRS,RMDQ and ODI at weeks2 and4 in the both groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),which decreased notably in the treatment group compared with the control group(P<0.05).The scores of NRS,RMDQ,and ODI in the both groups at week4 were significantly lower than those at week 2(P<0.05).After treatment,LROM(forward extension, posterior flexion, left and right rotation)in the both groups were significantly increased(P<0.05),the increase in the treatment group was more common than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion For SIJD patients, acupuncture combined with hip shaking method can effectively relieve low back pain and improve lumbar spine function.
