Effectiveness of timely Anshen foot bath combined with auricular acupressure treatment on post-stroke insomnia
Objective To explore the improvement effect of timely Anshen foot bath combined with auricular acupres-sure treatment on post-stroke insomnia. Methods A total of 80 patients with post-stroke insomnia were assigned into a con-trol group(n=40)and a study group(n=40),the all patients received routine care and auricular acupressure treatment, while those in the study group additionally received timely Anshen foot bath based on nutrient-defense theory. The patients of two groups were treated for two courses(14 days as a course of treatment). The curative effects of the two groups were assessed. The changes in Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)score and Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74(GQOL-74)score before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rates of the study group was signifi-cantly higher than that of the control group(95.00%[38/40]vs 80.00%[32/40],P<0.05).After intervention, the dimen-sions scores and total score of PSQI(subjective sleep quality, sleep efficiency, time to fall asleep, sleep duration, sleep disor-ders,daytime function)were significantly lower than those before intervention(P<0.05),which in the study group were more pronounced relative to the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the dimensions scores and total score of GQOL-74 scores(including material life status, psychological function, physical function and social function)were significantly higher than those before intervention(P<0.05),which in the study group were more obvious compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Timely Anshen foot bath combined with auricular acupressure treatment can effectively improve the quality of sleep and life by regulating yin and yang in post-stroke insomnia patients.
