Effects of Guizhi Fuling capsules combined with goserelin for postoperative recurrence of uterine fibroids and its impacts on sex hormone levels
Objective To explore the effects of Guizhi Fuling capsules combined with goserelin on postoperative recurrence of uterine fibroids and its impacts on sex hormone levels.Methods A total of 104 patients underwent uterine myomectomy were randomized 1∶1 to goserelin(control group)or Guizhi Fuling capsules combined with goserelin(treatment group).The hemorheology indexes,sex hormones levels(serum estradiol[E2],progesterone[P],follicle stimulating hormone[FSH]),and World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF(WHOQOL-BREF)scores before and after treatment were assessed between the two groups.The treatment-emergent adverse events(TEAEs)and the recurrence rates at months 3,6,and 12 of operation were observed.Results After treatment,both groups showed significantly decreased hemorheological indicators such as whole blood viscosity(high shear),plasma viscosity,platelet aggregation rate(P<0.05),and the treatment group showed a more significant decrease(P<0.05).After treatment,the serum FSH,P,E2 levels in both groups significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the treatment group was more significant(P<0.05).The postoperative recurrence rate in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group(1.92%[1/52]vs 17.31%[9/52],P<0.05).The dimension scores of WHOQOL-BREF in the both groups were significantly increased(P<0.05),which in the treatment group were more pronounced relative to the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of TEAEs between the treatment group and the control group(7.69%[4/52]vs 11.54%[6/52],P>0.05).Conclusion For patients underwent uterine myomectomy,Guizhi Fuling capsules combined with goserelin can improve hemodynamics,regulate hormone levels,reduce postoperative recurrence rate,and improve quality of life,and it is safe and reliable.
