Clinical efficacy of self-made Siwu Runzao Antipruritic Mixture for senile pruritus of blood deficiency wind dry type
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of self-made Siwu Runzao self-made Siwu Runzao Antipruritic Mixture for senile pruritus(SP).Methods One hundred and twenty SP patients were randomly assigned to receive conventional therapy+self-made Siwu Runzao Antipruritic Mixture(treatment group,n=60)or conventional therapy+moistening itching capsules(control group,n=60).The course of treatment was 4 weeks,followed up for 2 months after treatment(once every 2 weeks).The clinical efficacy,the incidence of adverse reactions and recurrence were assessed.Results There were 58 cases in the treatment group and 56 cases in control group completed the treatment and the follow-up.The 2-week pruritus scores in the both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment,which in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The 4-week pruritus scores in the both groups still decreased,which were slightly lower in the treatment group than in the control group(P>0.05).The 2-week effective rate in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group(68.96%[40/58]vs 50.00%[28/56],P<0.05).The 4-week effective rate in the treatment group was comparable to the control group(82.76%[48/58]vs 78.57%[44/56],P>0.05).The shortest time to take effect for relieving itching was significantly less in the treatment group than in the control group(P<0.05).The difference was not statistically significant in the incidence of adverse reactions between the treatment group and the control group(5.17%[3/58]vs 3.57%[2/56],P>0.05).The recurrence rate of 2-month follow-up was significantly lower in the treatment group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The self-made Siwu Runzao Antipruritic Mixture for SP of blood deficiency wind dry type has a significant therapeutic effects,with rapid onset,significantly less adverse reactions and recurrence,it is worthy of clinical application.
