Cangfu Daotan Decoction combined with acupuncture and moxibustion for polycystic ovary syndrome:A meta-analysis
Objective The meta-analysis aimed to systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of Cangfu Daotan Decoction combined with acupuncture and moxibustion for polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)with syndrome of phlegm-damp stagnation,thus providing reference for clinical treatment.Methods Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)about Cangfu Daotan Decoction with acupuncture and moxibustion for PCOS which published from January 1,2010 to March 15,2023 were retrieved in multiple databases.Eligible Data was performed for a meta-analysis using Revman 5.4 software.Results Eight RCTs representing 651 patients were included.The combination therapy presented significantly improved menstrual recovery,ovulation rate,pregnancy rate,follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),estrogen(E2),testosterone(T)relative to the controls.Conclusion Cangfu Daotan Decoction combined with acupuncture and moxibustion is superior to Western medicine alone for PCOS.However,most reports included in this study had low levels of evidence.Hence,high-quality RCTs will be needed to support the results,thus providing evidence-based medicine for PCOS.
