Effect of Tongluo Dihuang Decoction combined with bromocriptine on prolactin type pituitary adenoma
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Tongluo Dihuang Decoction combined with bromocriptine in treatment of prolactin pituitary tumour(PTPA).Methods Eighty patients with PTPA were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 40 cases in each group.Control group took bromocriptine orally,while treatment group took Tongluo Dihuang Decoction on the basis of control group.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared,the main syndrome score,secondary syndrome score and total score,tumor volume,prolactin(PRL),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)levels,the number of cases with normal menstrual cycle,normal menstrual volume,and disappearance of galactorrhea,and the percentage was calculated,and the occurrence of adverse reactions during the treatment was recorded.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group(P＜0.05);the main and secondary syndrome scores and total scores,tumor volume,PRL,and VEGF levels in both groups were lower than before treatment,and were lower in treatment group than control group(P＜0.05);the normal rate of menstrual cycle,the normal rate of menstruation volume and the disappearance rate of galactorrhea in treatment group were higher than those in control group;the adverse reaction rate in treatment group was lower than that in control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Tongluo Dihuang Decoction combined with bromocriptine is effective in treatment of PTPA,reducing the tumor volume,reducing the PRL level,inhibiting the angiogenesis,promoting the regression of symptoms,with good safety.
