Clinical observation on Taohong Siwu Decoction combined with milli fire needle acupuncture in treatment of nodular and cystic acne
Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture with milli fire needle and Taohong Siwu Decoction on cystic acne of phlegm type,and its influence on patients'anxiety and depression.Methods A total of 120 patients with nodular and cystic acne were randomly divided into control group and observation group,with 60 cases in each group.Control group was treated with isotretinoin,azithromycin and Taohong Siwu Decoction,while observation group was treated by acupuncture with milli fire needle based on control group(except for isotretinoin was reduced to 2 times per day),increase milli fire needle prick.The clinical effects of the two groups were compared,and the scores of inflammatory lesions,skin oil content,psychological state and quality of life score,incidence of adverse reactions and recurrence rate before and after treatment was compared.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05);the scores of inflammatory skin lesions,skin oil content,psychological state[Self Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self Rating Depression Scale(SDS)]and quality of life(DLQI)in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the reduction range of the above indexes in observation group was lower than that in control group(P<0.05);the adverse reaction and recurrence rate in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion It has better clinical effect on adjuvant treatment of cystic acne with phlegm by acupuncture with milli fire needle and Taohong Siwu Decoction,reducing inflammatory skin lesions and skin oil content,relieving anxiety and depression,improving quality of life with higher safety and lower recurrence rate.
