Effects of Bushen Huatan Huoxue Prescription combined with acupuncture and moxibustion on ovulation and sex hormone levels in polycystic ovarian syndrome
Objective To observe the effects of Bushen Huatan Huoxue Prescription and acupuncture on ovulation induction and sex hormone levels in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods A total of 124 patients with PCOS were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 62 cases in each group.Control group was treated with oral clomiphene,and treatment group was treated with acupuncture and moxibustion on the basis of control group.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared,and the endometrial thickness was determined,the proportion of type A endometrium were statistically analyzed,the levels of sex hormones follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),testosterone(T),estradiol(E2)and luteinizing hormone(LH)were measured,the advantage of follicle number,mature follicle number,ovulation rate,pregnancy rate,multiple pregnancy rate were calculated,cervical mucus Insler score were assessed,the proportion of insler≥8 points were statistically analyzed.Results After treatment,the total clinical effective rate of treatment group was significantly higher than that of control group(P＜0.05);the thickness of the endometrium in both groups was higher than before treatment,which was higher treatment group than control group(P＜0.05),and the proportion of type A endometrium in treatment group was higher than control group(P＜0.05);the levels of FSH and E2 in both groups were higher than before treatment,which were higher in treatment group than control group,while the levels of T and LH were lower than before treatment,which were lower in treatment group than control group(P＜0.05);the number of dominant follicles,mature follicles,and ovulation rate in treatment group were higher than control group(P＜0.05);the pregnancy rate in treatment group was higher than control group(P＜0.05),and there was no statistically significant difference in multiple pregnancy rates between the two groups(P＞0.05);the Insler scores of cervical mucus in both groups were higher than before treatment,which were higher in treatment group than control group(P＜0.05);the proportion of Insler≥ 8 points in treatment group was higher than control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion The combination of acupuncture and moxibustion has significant clinical efficacy in treatment ofPCOS,which can induce ovulation,increase endometrial thickness,promote pregnancy,regulate the level of sex hormones,and improve cervical mucus properties.
