Efficacy observation on oral administration of TCM combined with acupoint application in treatment of severe pneumonia in children
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of oral administration of TCM and acupoint application in treatment of severe pneumonia in children.Methods Ninety children with severe pneumonia were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 45 cases in each group.Control group was treated with meropenem+budesonide suspension,while treatment group was treated with oral administration of TCM combined with acupoint application on the basis of control group.The total improvement rate,arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),partial pressure of arterial carbon dioxide(PaCO2),oxygenation index(Oi),forced vital capacity at 1 second(FEV1),forced vital capacity(FVC),FEV1/FVC,C-reactive protein(CRP),procalcitonin(PCT),white blood cell count(WBC)and depyretic,disappearance of cough and pulmonary rales before and after treatment,and clinical pulmonary infection score(CPIS)before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of treatment group was significantly higher than control group(P＜0.05),and the levels of PaO2 and Oi of both groups were higher than those before treatment,which were higher in treatment group than control group,while PaCO2 was lower in both groups than before treatment,which was lower in control group than treatment group(P＜0.05);FEV1,FVC and FEV1/FVC in both groups were higher than before treatment,which were higher in treatment group than control group(P＜0.05);the CRP,PCT and WBC in both groups were lower than before treatment,which were lower in treatment group than control group(P＜0.05);the time of fever reduction,cough disappearance and pulmonary rales disappearance in treatment group was lower than control group(P＜0.05);the CPIS of both groups was lower than that before treatment,which was lower in treatment group than control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion The oral administration of TCM combined with acupoint application has a good effect in treatment of severe pneumonia in children,which can improve hypoxia and respiratory failure,improve lung function,reduce inflammation,shorten the disease course of the disease,and alleviate the patients'condition.
