Therapeutic effect of Vitamin B12 acupoint injection combined with moxibustion on cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Vitamin B12 acupoint injection combined with moxibustion on vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis(CSA).Methods Eighty-three CSA patients were randomly divided into observation group of 42 cases and control group of 41 cases each.Control group received Western medical treatment, while observation group received Vitamin B12 acupoint injection combined with moxibustion. The clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared, including neck pain and dizziness scale score(DHI),left and right vertebral artery and basilar artery blood flow velocity, memory scores, and European Five Dimensional Health Scale(EQ-5D)scores.Results After treatment, the total effective rate of observation group was higher than control group(P<0.05);both groups had lower neck pain and DHI scores than before treatment, which were lower in observation group than control group(P<0.05);the blood flow velocity of the left and right vertebral arteries and basilar arteries in both groups were higher than before treatment, which were higher in observation group than control group(P<0.05);the memory scores and EQ-5D scores of both groups were higher than before treatment, which were higher in observation group than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of Vitamin B12 acupoint injection with moxibustion can more effectively improve neck pain and dizziness symptoms, increase the blood flow rate of the vertebrobasilar artery, and improve memory ability and quality of life in CSA patients.
