Effect of Jiuwei Chushi Granules on thyroid hormone level and thyroid tissue morphology in female central precocious puberty rats
Objective To investigate the effect of Jiuwei Chushi Granules on the thyroid hormone level and thyroid tissue morphology in female central precocious puberty rats during the treatment of precocious puberty.Methods 48 female SD rats at the age of 23 days were randomly divided into control group,model group,Western medicine group,TCM low,medium and high dose groups,with 8 rats in each group.The rat model of precocious puberty was established with N-methyl-DL-aspartic acid(NMDA).TCM low,medium and high dose groups were treated with three kinds of double doses(17.37 g/kg,34.74 g/kg and 69.48 g/kg)of Jiuwei Chushi Granules;Western medicine group was intervened by gonnarelin.The drinking,eating and activity of rats and the morphology of thyroid follicular cells were observed;the serum levels of follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),estradiol(E2),free thyroxine(FT3,FT4)and thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)were measured by ELISA.Results Compared with control group,serum LH,FSH and E2 levels in model group increased,TSH levels decreased,FT3 and FT4 levels increased(P<0.05);compared with model group,serum LH,FSH and E2 levels in Western medicine group,TCM middle and high dose groups decreased,TSH levels increased,FT4 levels decreased,and FT3 levels slightly decreased(P<0.05);compared with model group,FSH and FT4 levels in TCM low dose group were lower(P<0.05).Conclusion Jiuwei Chushi Granules may affect FT3,FT4 and TSH levels in treatment of precocious puberty.
