Curative effect observation on ginkgo biloba extract combined with betahistine treatment of sudden deafness
Objective To observe the efficacy of ginkgo biloba extract(GBE)combined with betahistine in patients with sudden deafness(SD).Methods 120 SD patients were randomly divided into control group and treatment group with 60 cases in each group.Control group was treated with betahistine, while treatment group was treated with GBE on the basis of control group. The efficacy, the time to disappearance of symptoms accompanied by SD,the hearing threshold, and the levels of immune cells(CD3+,CD4+and CD8+ratios,CD4/CD8+values),blood viscosity[whole blood hypercut viscosity(HBV),whole blood low cut viscosity(LBV),plasma viscosity(PV)],and inflammatory markers[hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6)]of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group(P<0.05);the disappearance time of SD with symptomatic vertigo and tinnitus in treatment group was shorter than that in control group(P<0.05);the concentration of hearing threshold,CD8+ratio,HBV,LBV,PV,hs-CRP and IL-6 in the range of 1~3 kHz in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and were lower in observation group than control group(P<0.05);the ratio of CD3+and CD4+and CD4+/CD84 values in both groups were higher than those before treatment, and were higher in treatment group than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion GBE combined with betahistine has better efficacy than betahistine in SD patients, promoting the resolution of SD symptoms of vertigo and tinnitus, reducing hearing threshold, regulating immune and inflammatory responses, and reducing blood viscosity.
