Clinical observation on modified Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction combined with pramipexole in treatment of restless leg syndrome after stroke
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction combined with pramipexole in treatment of post-stroke restless leg syndrome(RLS).Methods 60 patients with post-stroke RLS were randomly divided into combination group and control group, with 30 cases in each group.Control group received pramipexole, while combination group received modified Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction on the basis of control group. The total effective rates, the International RLS Severity Scale(IRLS),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)scores,C-reactive protein(CRP)and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels,healing time, and the 1-month recurrence rate of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of combination group was higher than that of control group(P<0.05);the IRIS,PSQI,HAMA and HAMD scores of both groups were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.05),and were significantly lower in combination group than control group(P<0.05);the average levels of CRP and IL-6 in both groups were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.05),and were significantly lower in combination group than control group(P<0.05);the healing time was significantly shorter, and recurrence rate was significantly lower in combination group than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The clinical efficacy of modified Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Decoction combined with pramipexole in treatment of RLS after stroke is significant. It reduces the severity of the condition, improves sleep quality, relieves anxiety and depression, downregulates inflammatory factors, and has a low recurrence rate.
