Clinical observation on Shirun Shaoshang Ointment combined with gelatin sponge for bipolar electrocoagulation in treatment of nosebleeds
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Shirun Shaoshang Ointment combined with gelatin sponge in bipolar electrocoagulation in treatment of nosebleeds. Methods 120 patients with nosebleeds were randomly divided into control group and treatment group, with 60 cases in each group.Control group received gelatin sponge on the basis of bipolar electrocoagulation therapy, while treatment group received Shirun Shaoshang Ointment on the basis of control group. The total effective rates,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score and endoscopic score for nasal distension and headache, hemostasis time and bleeding volume, and adverse reactions within 6 months of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of treatment group was significantly higher than those of control group(P<0.05);VAS scores and endoscopic scores of nasal distension and headache in both groups were significantly lower than before treatment, and were significantly lower in treatment group than control group(P<0.05);hemostasis time and bleeding volume in treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group(P<0.05);adverse reactions within 6 months in treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of Shirun Shaoshang Ointment and gelatin sponge has significant clinical efficacy in bipolar electrocoagulation treatment of nosebleeds, promoting wound healing of nasal mucosa, reducing bleeding volume, and reducing the occurrence of adverse reactions.
