Efficacy of Danggui Sini Decoction combined with strontium chloride injection in treatment of metastatic bone tumors
Objective To observe the efficacy of Danggui Sini Decoction combined with strontium chloride injection in treatment of metastatic bone tumors.Methods A total of 100 cases of metastatic bone tumors were randomly divided into control group and treatment group,with 50 cases each.Control group was treated with strontium chloride injection,and treatment group was treated with Danggui Sini Decoction on the basis of contrtol group.The efficacy of bone pain,quality of life,metastatic lesions,body mass index(BMI),Karnofsky functional status score(KPS)and bone pain score,albumin(ALB),natural killer(NK)cell activity,CD4+/CD8+,bradykinin(BK),β-endorphins(β-EP),alkaline phosphatase(ALP)and osteocalcin(BGP)levels were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of bone pain in treatment group was higher than that in control group(P＜0.05);the total effective rate of quality of life in treatment group was higher than that in control group(P＜0.05);there was no statistically significant difference in the total response rate between the two groups of metastatic lesions(P＞0.05);both groups had higher BMI than before treatment,while KPS and bone pain scores were lower than before treatment;the BMI of treatment group was higher than that of control group,and the KPS and bone pain scores were lower than those of control group(P＜0.05);the ALB and NK cell activity,CD4+/CD8+in treatment group were higher than those before treatment and in control group(P＜0.05),but there was no statistically significant difference in ALB and NK cell activity,CD4+/CD8+before and after treatment in control group(P＞0.05);the levels of two sets of BK,β-EP,ALP,and BGP were lower than before treatment,and were lower in treatment group than those of control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Danggui Sini Decoction combined with strontium chloride injection can significantly reduce bone pain,improve quality of life,improve nutrient metabolism and immune function,and reduce the level of pain mediators and bone metabolism indexes in treatment of metastatic bone tumors,but has no significant effect on the shrinkage of metastatic lesions.
