Efficacy of Jingtong Granules combined with massage in treatment of cervical radiculopathy
Objective To observe the efficacy of Jingtong Granules combined with massage in treatment of cervical radi-culopathy(CR).Methods A total of 86 CR patient were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 43 cases each.Control group was treated with massage,and treatment group received Jingtong Granules on the basis of control group.The total improvement rate,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score,Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)CR score,cervical spine mobility,Cobb angle,median nerve and ulnar nerve F wave conduction velocity,and TCM syndrome score were compared between the two groups.Results The overall improvement rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group(P＜0.05);VAS scores and TCM syndrome in both groups were lower than those before treatment,and were lower in treatment group than control group(P＜0.05);the JOA score,cervical spine mobility and F-wave velocity of Cobb angle,median nerve and ulnar nerve in both groups were higher than those before treatment(P＜0.05),and were higher in treatment group than those in control group(P＜0.05);the recurrence rate of treatment group was lower than that of control group at 6 months of follow-up(P＜0.05).Conclusion Jingtong Granules combined with massage has a definite curative effect in treatment of CR,it can significantly relieve pain,improve cervical spine function,increase nerve conduction velocity,alleviate TCM symptoms,and reduce recurrence rate.
