Efficacy of Huatan Qingfei Prescription combined with basic Western medical therapy in treatment of phlegm-heat and lung stroke-related pneumonia
Objective To observe the efficacy of Huatan Qingfei Prescription combined with basic Western medical therapy in treatment of phlegm heat and lung stroke-associated pneumonia(SRP).Methods A total of 60 patients with sputum-heat-lung SRP were randomly divided into control group and treatment group with 30 cases each.Control group was treated with basic Western medical therapy,and treatment group was treated with Huatan Qingfei Prescription on the basis of control group.The efficacy of pneumonia,the time of body temperature recovery,leukocyte recovery,and complete absorption of lesions,the scores of clinical pulmonary infection(CRIS)and TCM syndrome,body temperature(T),white blood cell count(WBC),neutrophil ratio(N％),and C-reactive protein(CRP),and pathogen clearance in the two groups were compared.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of pneumonia in treatment group was better than that in control group(P＜0.05);the body temperature,leukocyte recovery,and complete absorption of lesions in treatment group were lower than those in control group(P＜0.05);the CRIS score and TCM pattern score of both groups were lower than those before treatment,and were lower in treatment group than those in control group(P＜0.05);the T,CRP,WBC,and N％in both groups were lower than those before treatment,and were lower in treatment group than those in control group(P＜0.05);the pathogen clearance rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Huatan Qingfei Prescription combined with basic Western medical therapy can significantly improve the efficacy of phlegm-heat-accumulation pulmonary SRP,promote recovery,alleviate lung infection,control TCM syndromes,inhibit inflammatory factors,and improve the clearance rate of pathogenic bacteria.
