Advances in curcumin activating Nrf2/HO-1 pathway to improve Parkinson's disease
Parkinson's disease(PD)is unclear and oxidative stress and inflammatory responses are currently considered to play an important role in its occurrence and development.Nuclear factor E2 related factor 2(Nrf2)/heme oxygenase 1(HO-1)pathway is involved in anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative stress, which is closely related to the development of PD.Curcumin has been shown to improve neuronal damage in patients with PD by regulating the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway to combat oxidative stress and suppress inflammation. In this article, the mechanism of curcumin in PD is reviewed, and the intervention of curcumin in PD based on Nrf2/HO-1 pathway is discussed,so as to provide a theoretical basis and idea for the trentment of PD.
