Study on the effectiveness of Runfei Gushen Decoction combined with pirfenidone in treatment of lung and kidney deficiency type of progressive pulmonary fibrosis
Objective To observe the effectiveness of Runfei Gushen Decoction combined with pirfenidone in treatment of lung and kidney deficiency type of progressive pulmonary fibrosis(PPF).Methods A total of 120 patients with lung and kidney deficiency type of PPF were randomly divided into control group and observation group with 60 cases in each group.Control group was treated with oral pirfenidone and prednisone acetate,while observation group was treated with Runfei Gushen Decoction on the basis of control group.The clinical efficacy,TCM syndrom score,lung function[1 s forced expiratory volume(FEV1),forced vital capacity(FVC),maximum mid-expiratory flow(MMEF),carbon monoxide diffusion(DLco)],6-minute walk test(6 MWT),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),salivary glucose chain antigen-6(KL-6),chest CT score,partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)of the two groups were compared.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of observation group was higher than that of control group(P＜0.05);the scores of TCM in both groups were lower than those before treatment,and were lower in observation group than control group(P＜0.05);FEV1,FVC,MMEF,DLco,6 MWT and PaO2 in both groups were higher than those before treatment,which were higher in observation group than control group(P＜0.05);the scores of ESR,KL-6 and chest CT in both groups were lower than those before treatment,which were lower in observation group than control group(P＜0.05),and there was no significant difference in PaCO2 between the two groups before and after treatment(P＞0.05).Conclusion Runfei Gushen Decoction combined with pirfenidone has good effectiveness in treatment of lung and kidney deficiency type of progressive pulmonary fibrosis,which can reduce TCM scores,improve lung function,improve chest CT performance,reduce ESR and KL-6 levels,and increase blood oxygen content.
