Efficacy of Shiwei Longdanhua Capsules combined with budesonide in treatment of acute upper respiratory tract infection
Objective To observe the efficacy of Shiwei Longdanhua Capsules combined with budesonide in treatment of acute upper respiratory tract infection(AURI).Methods A total of 120 patients with AURI were randomly divided into control group and observation group with 60 cases in each group.Control group was inhaled with budesonide by nebulization,while observation group was treated with Shiwei Longdanhua Capsules on the basis of control group.The efficacy,duration of symptoms,scores of major and secondary symptoms,immunoglobulins A,G,and M(IgA,IgG,and IgM),procalcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP),amyloid A(SAA)and total adverse reaction rates were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of observation group was higher than that of tcontrol group(P＜0.05);the duration of symptoms of fever,cough,sore throat,stuffy nose and runny nose in observation group was lower than that in control group(P＜0.05);the scores of primary and secondary symptoms in both groups were lower than those before treatment;the scores of primary and secondary symptoms in observation group were lower than those in control group(P＜0.05);the IgA,IgG and IgM levels in both groups were higher than those before treatment,which were higher in observation group than those in control group(P＜0.05);the PCT,CRP and SAA levels in both groups were lower than those before treatment,which were lower in observation group than those in control group(P＜0.05),and there was no significant difference in the total adverse reaction rate between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Shiwei Longdanhua Capsules combined with budesonide has positive efficacy and good safety in treatment of AURI,significantly improving symptoms,shortening the course of the disease,improving immunity and reducing inflammation.
