Tianma Gouteng Decoction combined with abdominal acupuncture in treatment of cervical vertigo
Objective To observe the efficacy of Tianma Gouteng Decoction combined with abdominal acupuncture in treatment of cervical vertigo(CV).Methods A total of 108 CV patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 54 cases in each group.Control group was treated with vinpocetine, while observation group was treated with Tianma Gouteng Decoction combined with abdominal acupuncture on the basis of control group. The efficacy, the left vertebral artery(LVA),right vertebral artery(RVA),basilar artery blood flow velocity(VB),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Hamilton Anxiety/Depression Scale(HAMA/HAMD),Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)and Vertigo Disorder Survey Scale(DHI)scores, plasma viscosity(PV),hematocrit(Hct),and erythrocyte aggregation index(EAI)were compared before and after treatment between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of observation group was higher than that of control group(P<0.05);the LVA,RVA and VB in both groups were higher than those before treatment, which were higher in observation group than control group(P<0.05);the PSQI scores of both groups were lower than those before treatment, which were lower in observation group than control group(P<0.05);the scores of HAMA,HAMD,VAS,and DHI in both groups were lower than those before treatment, which were lower in observation group than control group(P<0.05);the PV,Hct and EAI of both groups were lower than those before treatment, which were lower in observation group than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Tianma Gouteng Decoction combined with abdominal acupuncture has definite efficacy in treatment of CV by promoting intracranial artery blood circulation, improving sleep, depression and anxiety, and reducing the degree of dizziness.
