The clinical efficacy of Banxia Xiexin Decoction in treatment of chronic urticaria and its impact on immune factor levels
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Banxia Xiexin Decoction in treatment of chronic urticaria and its impact on the levels of related immune factors in serum.Methods A total of 148 patients with chronic urticaria were randomly divided into control group and treatment group,with 74 cases in each group.Control group was treated with Olotadine hydrochloride,while treatment group was treated with Banxia Xiexin Decoction on the basis of control group.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated;the TCM syndrome score,urticaria activity score(UAS),quality of life index(DLQI),peripheral blood CD4+and CD8+T cells,inflammatory factors interleukin-4(IL-4),IL-6,1L-10,and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)levels before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group(P＜0.05);TCM symptom scores,urticaria activity score,and quality of life index score were significantly lower than before treatment in both groups(P＜0.05),which were lower in treatment group than those in control group(P＜0.05);CD4 T cell content in the peripheral blood was higher than before treatment in both groups,while CD8+T cell content was lower(P＜0.05),and the above indicators were superior in treatment group to those in control group(P＜0.05);the levels of IL-4,IL-6,IL-10,and TNF-α in the serum were lower than before treatment in both groups,which were lower in treatment group than those in control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Banxia Xiexin Decoction can significantly reduce TCM syndrome score,urticaria activity score,and quality of life index of skin disease patients in treatment of chronic urticaria,reduce serum immune factor levels,and shows good clinical efficacy.It is suitable for further clinical promotion and use.
