Effect of silica content on properties of matte polyester films
By using melting extrusion, bidirectional stretching, and blending, matte films with varying sili-ca contents were created.Using a differential scanning calorimeter(DSC),the thermal characteristics of the matte samples were examined, and the crystallization properties were computed. The biaxial tensile testing ma-chine compared the stress-strain curves of various samples during the matte film preparation process.Use of a la-ser confocal microscope and transmission fog meter allowed for the analysis of the surface roughness, morphology, and optical characteristics of matte films with varying silica contents. The results show that on the sur-face,the Tc of matte polyester samples gradually dropped, the Avrami index n of melt crystallization increased, and the half crystallization period t1/2 decreased as the silica content increased.Under the same processing conditions, the tensile stress of matte polyester samples increased as the silica content increased. The greater the difference, the higher the tensile ratio. The degree of fog has the second-biggest impact on matte film gloss, while transmit-tance has the least impact. The content of dioxide has the biggest impact.Excessive micron powder will flatten the film's surface, and silica will alter the film's essential roughness.
