Determination of the solvent components in working solution for hydrogen peroxide using GC
A method for the gas chromatography-based solvent component detection in working solution has been developed, based on the intermediate quality control in the anthraquinone process used to produce hydrogen peroxide.Following a qualitative analysis of the retention times of heavy aromatics(AR),tetrabutylurea(TBU),and tris(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate(TOP),the five-point method was utilized for the quantitative exami-nation of the solvent components in the working solution. The findings demonstrated that the concentration of three different types of solvents in the working solution for the anthraquinone process of producing hydrogen perox-ide could be precisely ascertained by means of gas chromatography(GC).The retention times of AR,TBU,and TOP were 6.200~10.200(with the highest peak occurring at 7.403),18.672,and 24.310 minutes,respective-ly.Using this straightforward approach, the relative standard deviation for the solvent components of the working so-lution and recovery rate were 0.03%~0.41%and 95.67%~100.14%,respectively.These values can be utilized to track the intermediate process quality of the anthraquinone process of producing hydrogen peroxide.
