Sound absorption performance of polyester melt-blown nonwoven fabric and its relationship with its structure
The melt-blown nonwoven fabric prepared by the melt-blown method plays an important role in the field of sound absorption and noise reduction, and its material structure and component characteristics have a decis-ive impact on its sound absorption performance. This article uses two different types of polyester(polyethylene terephthalate(PET)and polybutylene terephthalate(PBT))melt-blown nonwoven fabrics as samples to test their sound absorption coefficients, and investigates the effects of material thickness, fiber diameter, and compo-nent characteristics on the sound absorption performance of sound absorbing materials. And the polyester melt-blown nonwoven fabric was composite with commercial sound-absorbing materials in different arrangements, and the improvement effect of polyester melt-blown nonwoven fabric and its composite structure on the sound-absorbing performance of commercial sound-absorbing materials was studied. The results show that an increase in material thickness can effectively improve the sound absorption performance at mid to low frequencies, and the peak absorp-tion coefficient shifts towards low frequencies with increasing thickness. The sound-absorbing material prepared from PBT components with better flexibility has better sound absorption performance, and its sound absorption coef-ficient at specific frequencies is twice that of PET melt blown nonwoven fabric with the same thickness. When poly-ester melt-blown nonwoven fabric is arranged with commercial sound-absorbing materials in a structure of dense lay-er fluffy layer dense layer fluffy layer, polyester melt-blown nonwoven fabric has the best improvement in sound ab-sorption performance of commercial sound-absorbing materials, the peak sound absorption coefficient at medium and low frequencies is 0.99,and the sound absorption coefficient at high frequencies can reach 0.98,indicating good broadband sound absorption performance.
