Comparative study on the performance of PA66/PET composite cord
Using dynamic thermomechanical analysis(DMA)at a frequency of 10 Hz in tensile mode, the dy-namic mechanical properties of polyadiohexylenediamine(PA66)/polyethylene terephthalate(PET)compos-ite cord were investigated. In particular, the impact of temperature and thermal transition temperature on the material's fracture strength was examined and compared with PA66 cord. The glass transition temperature(Tg)of the PA66/PET composite cord increased by 5~10℃within the studied temperature range when compared to PA66 cord. This suggests that the PA66/PET composite cord's usage temperature increased by 5~10℃.The breaking strength of PA66 cord decreases more with rising temperatures than the breaking strength of PA66/PET composite cord, and the decrease is more noticeable at higher temperatures. The constant load elongation, dry heat shrinkage rate, and 1%~10%constant elongation stress of PA66/PET composite cord are all less than those of PA66 cord.Tires composed of PA66/PET composite cord have comparable overall performance to PA66 material in terms of cross-section,outer edge, bead detachment, strength, high speed, durability, etc.
