Comparison of Gas Production Characteristics of Different Transformer Oils
Dissolved gas analysis in transformer oil is an effective method to diagnose transformer faults. The gas production characteristics of five kinds of transformer oils(naphthenic and non-naphthenic)after aging treatment at different temperatures and for different times are compared to provide data support for the safe operation of transformers. The production of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, methane, ethylene and carbon dioxide by the five transformer oils increased with the increase of aging temperature. The gas production trend of naphthenic transformer oil with low hydrofining depth changed relatively quickly. The gas production trend of transformer oil is related to the refining depth of base oil and has nothing to do with the composition of base oil.(Charts 12 Table 1 References2)
