Application of Graphene and Graphene Composite Nanomaterials in Lubrication
The friction and wear of mechanical equipment can cause a large amount of material loss and energy consumption, and sometimes even reduce the service life of the machinery, resulting in greater economic losses.Nanomaterials such as graphene are dispersed in the form of particles in lubricants, which have significant anti-friction and anti-wear performances, environmental friendliness, and wide applicability. They can effectively extend the service life of mechanical equipment and have high research value in industrial fields such as petroleum, engineering equipment, manufacturing, transportation, etc.A brief overview of strategies for improving friction performance using nanoparticles was presented, along with a review of research examples of graphene as an anti-friction and wear-resistant additive in tribology. The application instances of graphene combined with carbon-based nano-lubricating materials and metal nanoparticle composites were summarized and analyzed, respectively.Furthermore, several urgent problems that need to be addressed in the current research of graphene and nanoparticles in the field of tribology were introduced.(Charts5 Tables0 References38)
