Analysis on the Causes of Temperature Fluctuations of Bearing Shells in Centrifugal Compressors and Potential Solutions
Temperature fluctuation in bearing shells of three compressors in ethylene plants are a recurring phenomenon during equipment operation. The varnish deposit is one of the factors contributing to these temperature variations, causing increasing friction and poor heat dissipation to bearing shells, and endangering the safe and normal operation of the units.Abnormal temperature issues in bearing shells were investigated, operational risk factors were identified, and specific preventive and remedial measures were proposed.Study found that the implementation of varnish removal oil purifier can continuously improve the quality of lubricating oil, extend its service life, and ensure long-term stable operation of the units.Furthermore, the application of lubricating oils with a low varnish potential, such as Great Wall 4518 synthetic centrifugal compressor oil,can improve lubricant quality, extend the formation cycle of varnish deposit and other oxidation products, and ensure the operational reliability of the units.(Charts6 Tables6 References3)
