Comparative Study on the Miscibility of Ester-based Refrigeration Oils(POE68)with Major HFCs Refrigerants
Based on research requirements, four types of pentaerythritol ester base oils with the same viscosity but different molecular structures were independently designed and synthesized. The component structures were determined using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR)and chromatographic hydrolysis. The physicochemical properties, including viscosity temperature index, acid value, flash point, pour point, and lubricity,as well as the refrigerant miscibility of the four ester-based refrigeration oils(A,B,C,and D)formulated from these four base oils, were evaluated. It was found that their basic physicochemical properties showed no significant differences;however,in terms of their critical miscibility temperatures with refrigerants R134a and R410A,oil B,which contains relatively fewer straight-chain acids, exhibited the best miscibility with the refrigerants, followed by oil D and oil A,with oil C showing the poorest performance.(Charts4 Tables3 References4)
