Research progress of crystallization behavior of PEEK in PEEK/CF composites
This paper summarizes recent progresses on interfacial crystallization behaviors of carbon fiber(CF)reinforced polyetheretherketone(PEEK)composites, focusing on the evolution of PEEK crystalline morphology during the compositing processes. The key factors affecting the formation of transverse crystal structure of PEEK on CF surface are also summarized. The formation of transverse crystal structure is closely related to compatibility of microstructure and thermal conductivity of CF and PEEK as well as heat treatment conditions of composites. The transverse crystal structure of PEEK on CF surface is helpful to improve the interfacial bonding strength and thus enhance the tensile strength and Young's modulus of the composites.
