Preparation of BOPET/crosslinked WSPET composite membrane
Water-soluble polyester(WSPET)was synthesized via two-step esterification with terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, sodium phthalic acid-5-sulfonate,dihydroxymethylpropionic acid, and ethylene glycol as raw materials. Then hexamethoxy methyl melamine(HMMM)was used as crosslinking agent to prepare bioxially-oriented polyester(BOPET)/WSPET-HMMM composite membrane by solution crosslinking via tape casting. The chemical structures of the composite membrane before and after cross linking were characterized. The effects of crosslinking agent concentration on the boiling resistance, optical properties and physical properties of BOPET/WSPET-HMMM composite membrane were investigated. The results show that HMMM has an obvious effect on chemical structure of BOPET/WSPET-HMMM composite membrane. With increase of the amount of HMMM,the glass transition temperature of the composite membrane increases and then decreases, its thermal stability is improved, and its boiling resistance is enhanced and then decreased.Meanwhile, the pencil hardness and adhesion of the composite membrane are gradually improved, its flexibility is reduced, its gloss decreases slightly and its solvent resistance is improved.
