Preparation of PVDF/PVA blend membrane and its application in removal of COD from sewage
Polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)were used to prepare PVDF/PVA blend membrane with polyvinyl pyrrolidone as solvent. The membrane was used in the membrane bioreactor to treat sewage, and the removal rate of chemical oxygen demand(COD)in the effluent and the performance of the membrane were tested. The results show that the water flux of the membrane increases gradually with the increase of the amount of PVA added, and the water flux of the membrane reaches the maximum value when the draft ratio is 1.7.The recovery rate of the water flux is relatively high after the flat membrane is washed by clean water. The operating cycle of the membrane decreases by 18 hours after the first cleaning and keeps stable at about 6-8 hours after the second and third cleaning.COD removal rate is higher than 90%,indicating that the membrane performs excellently.
