Preparation and properties of polypropylene/wood flour composites
The solid phase grafted copolymers and melting grafted copolymers of polypropylene were used as the interface modifiers of polypropylene/wood flour composites respectively to investigate the influence of amount of graft copolymers on the interface structure, tensile properties, flexural properties and impact properties of polypropylene/wood flour composites. The interfacial bonding strength of the composites was calculated according to the tensile properties. The results show that both multi-monomer grafted copolymers effectively improve the mechanical properties of the composites and maintain the thermal stability of the composites. The mechanical properties of the composites are increased with the increase of multi-monomer graft copolymers. The interfacial compatibility of the composites is more stable and the mechanical properties are the best when the loading of multi-monomer grafted copolymers is 5 phr.The parameter of the interfacial bonding strength is increased from 2.56 to more than 3.50,indicating that the interfacial bonding strength of the composites is high.
