Synthesis of 4-VP-DVB and its application in adsorption of phenol in coal chemical wastewater
1,2-Dichloroethane was used as pore forming agent, azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator, polyvinyl alcohol as stabilizer, and 4-vinylpyridine(4-VP)as functional monomer to copolymerize with divinylbenzene to synthesize 4-vinylpyridine divinylbenzene copolymer(4-VP-DVB).The effect of the amount of 4-VP on physicochemical parameters of 4-VP-DVB and its adsorption performance to phenol in coal chemical wastewater were investigated. The results show that when the mass fraction of 4-VP is from 5%to 10%,the specific surface area of 4-VP-DVB is relatively large, whose average pore diameter is small and whose pore volume is high. Its adsorption performance to phenol in coal chemical wastewater is better, and its static adsorption kinetics to phenol is more in line with the pseudo second order adsorption kinetics equation in which physical adsorption is the main driving force.
