Effect of oil content of polyester staple fiber on its spinning performance
A 1.33 dtex×38 mm polyester staple fiber with oil content of 70%-100%was trial-produced by using fore-spun pol-yester precursor with a monofilament linear density of 4.5 dtex, and then the spinning test of the staple fiber was carried out.The effect of oil content on the basic properties and spinning performance of the staple fiber was studied during post-spinning process. The results showed that the staple fiber had fairly good mechanical and friction properties when the oil content was 80%-90%,and the attenuation rate of the strength and elongation was relatively low at the oil content of 80%-90%,but was high at the oil content above 90%;the spinning performance of staple fiber with oil content of 80%-90%was good, and the yarn could be produced with high quality;and the yarn with the oil content of 90%had the breaking strength of 3.60 cN/dtex,the un-evenness of 12.13%,the hairiness index of 1.26 and the amount of white powder of 0.010 5 g/km in the spinning process.
