Effect of aggregate structure on alcoholysis process and products of PET fiber
The rational alcoholysis process of polyethylene terephthalate(PET)fibers was studied using ethylene glycol(EG)as alcoholysis reagent and zinc acetate(Zn(AC)2)as catalyst. The PET fibers with different aggregate structures were character-ized and the alcoholysis experiments were conducted. The alcoholysis process and products were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry,high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and fully digital nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The results showed that the rational alcoholysis process of PET fibers was as followed:1.0%catalyst by mass frac-tion,stirring speed 300 r/min,reaction temperature 190℃,mass ratio of EG to PET fiber 9:1;the alcoholysis conversion rate of PET fibers decreased with the increase of the crystallinity, while the degree of orientation had little effect on the alcoholysis rate;the non alcoholysis products were mainly composed of unalcoholized PET fibers, trimers and dimers during the reaction process, and the alcoholysis product was dihydroxyethyl terephthalate without any other impurities.
