Application of low-temperature waste heat power generation in caprolactam project
Based on the current situation of high steam consumption and incomplete utilization of waste heat from steam conden-sate in caprolactam units, taking a 600 kt/a caprolactam unit as an example, the application and energy-saving effect of low-tem-perature waste heat power generation were introduced in caprolactam units. The results showed that the steam consumption of the 600 kt/a caprolactam unit was about 1 020 t/h and the total amount of steam condensate recovery was about 870 t/h,so an organic Rankine cycle(ORC)low-temperature waste heat power generation system was adopted using 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropro-pane as the organic working medium in order to fully utilize the steam condensate as heat source while ensuring the demand for steam condensate from the unit's chilled water;and the power generation system operated stably and safely and provided significant energy-saving and economic effects, which produced an annual net power generation of 1.784×107 kW·h,equivalent to reducing the consumption of standard coal by 5 607 t and CO2 emissions by 10 601 t and saving circulating water by 1.440×107 t.
