Spillover Effects of Technological Innovation on Carbon Emission Reduction——An Empirical Research Based on Spatial Dubin Model
In the context of continuous global warming and increasingly severe ecological and environ-mental issues, carbon emission reduction has become an issue closely related to all humanity.Based on China's inter-provincial panel data from 2006 to 2019,this paper establishes a Spatial Durbin Model(SDM)to study the spatial effects of technological innovation on carbon emission reduction. The re-sults show that the improvement of a city's technological innovation capacity not only exerts a signifi-cant positive impact on carbon emission reduction in its own region, but also has an impact on carbon emission reduction in neighboring regions, with spatial spillover effects. At the same time, the spillo-ver effect exhibits significant heterogeneity in the eastern, central, and western regions respectively, with the eastern region being the strongest, followed by the central region, and the western region be-ing comparatively weaker. Therefore, focusing on technological innovation, improving the coordina-tion mechanism between the government and the market, giving full play to the spatial spillover effect of technological innovation according to local conditions, and exploring new ideas of carbon emission reduction can promote China's low-carbon economic growth.
