Qian Daxin approves the principle of"Qichu",arguing that the chastity concept need not to be held rigidly.Whereas Jiao xun quotes The Book of Changes to oppose Qian Daxin in the first chap-ter of Yi Qian.In theory,Qian Daxin bases his ideas on the study of etiquette,while Jiao Xun s no-tions originate from the study of Yi.It seems that Qian Daxin is more open-minded while Jiao Xun is more pedantic.But from the perspective of their emotional lives,it can be found that Jiao Xun s ideas are supported by touching life experiences instead of rigid dogma as well.Therefore,only by balan-cing both theoretical and practical perspectives,can we take a comprehensive view of this dispute.
