As a significant category in human cognition,space has received wide attention within all fields.Spatial relation construction,a special type of construction,builds on its special spatial relation with the dependent on spatial words.There are different types of spatial relationship constructions in Pre-Qin Classic Dao De Jing.With the help of BFSU PowerConc 1.0 corpus software,the types and distribution of spatial relationship constructions can be quantitatively identified,and the construction characteristics and recognition mechanisms of different types of spatial relationship constructions can be revealed.Research findings are as follows.In the Pre-Qin Classic Dao De Jing,there are mainly five types of mono-spatial relation construction and mixed-spatial relation construction,with the latter synthesized on the basis of the former.Based on"Reality-AEC-Language"principle,with the help of metaphorical chains and event structure metaphorical system,this paper explores the cognitive moti-vation of different types of spatial relation construction to provide a cognitive,explanatory power to further disseminate the Pre-Qin Classic Dao De Jing.
