On the Influence of Yuan Hongdao's"Xingling Theory"on Wang Zengqi's Fiction Writing
Yuan Hongdao was a famous litterateur and the leader of The Gong an School of Literary Writing in the late Ming Dynasty,His"Xingling Theory",one of the most important aesthetic theo-ries of the Ming Dynasty,emphasizes"expressing true nature and spirit independently and not stick-ing to formal rules"and pays attention to the essence of human beings.It has three characteristics:"authenticity,humor and elegance",that is,poetry and prose creation should express true feelings,pursue interest and advocate simple elegance,which has exerted a great influence on later literati.Bei-jing school writer Wang Zengqi's literary creation is deeply influenced by Yuan Hongdao's"Xingling Theory",and his inheritance and development of"Xingling Theory"is mainly manifested in his fiction writing,which is full of fresh air of late Ming dynasty essays.Wang Zengqi combined the spiritual characteristics of"truth,humor and elegance"with his fiction writing,advocating a return to the o-riginal humanitarianism,and forming a unique style of valuing authenticity,humor,and elegance,and personalized creation of the aesthetic feeling of"the intersection of sadness and joy",which left a strong mark in the history of literature.
