Application of Inverter with Capacitive Output Impedance in Solving Wind Turbine Reactive Compensation
The equivalent output impedance of the trubine network-side inverter is designed to be capacitive in order to show the electric characteristics, reverse with the system reactive voltage adjustment, and capable of involving the turbine in voltage adjustment at public joint points.By understanding the droop control characteristics of the inverter with capacitive equivalent output impedance, the voltage current control loop is mathematically modelled ; "virtual reactance" is introduced to the network-side inverter control in order to simulate the inverter with capacitive output impedance, and reactive compensation. The simulation proves that the inverter with capacitive output impedance can rapidly respond to the significant voltage drop caused by system failure, generate the reactive power and effectively participate in the system voltage adjustment.
