Expander Performance Analysis for Organic Power Generation System for Low Temperature Heat Sources
The Organic Rankine cycle power generation systems are widely used in the field of low-temperature heat recycling of industrial waste heat, solar thermal and geothermal. As a key component of the power generation system for low temperature heat sources, the performance of the expanders has significant effect on the system efficiency and output power.Considering the thermodynamic property and environmental characteristics of the working fluids,R600a is selected as a proper working fluid and a detailed analysis of component performance and cycle characteristics for two kinds of output power levels is conducted. It is verified that the performance of the ORC power generation systems will be improved with the increase of expansion ratio of the scroll expander and radial turbine, then several measures to improve the system performance are proposed.
