Link Line Distance Protection of Wind Farms with Energy Storage System
Due to the effects of natural factors such as wind speed, the grid-connected wind power active power fluctuates, which seriously affects the grid power quality, and brings severe challenge to the stable system operation. In order to reduce the wind farm power output fluctuation, this paper puts forward the new topology,in which the vanadium flow battery (VRB) energy storage system with direct power control is joined into PCC point of permanent magnet direct-drive (PMSG) wind farm.Through comparative analysis of wind farm fault features with and without energy storage system, the link line adaptive distance protection scheme for wind farm with energy storage system is proposed. Finally, simulation results verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed scheme.
