Integration of 1 000 MW Coal-fired Generation Unit to 220kV Grid
1 000MW coal-fired generation units are commonly integrated to 500kV grid in Jiangsu Province; the shortcircuit current in 500kV grid is accordingly increased.Under the pressure of the environment, small capacity generation units will be replaced by those with large capacity and more effective energy utilization.Along with this replacement the 500kV transformer capacity gradually aggrandizes, and both transformer investment and power loss are boosted.Nowadays, some partitions of the 220kV Jiangsu grid are strong enough to accept the integration of 1000MW coal-fired unit.In this paper the positive impacts and proposed access methods of 1000MW coal-fired unit to 220kV grid are studied. The results show that, the integration of 1000 MW coal-fired unit to 220kV grid can not only avoid the redundant construction of 500 kV transformers, but also effectively reduce short-circuit currents of 220kV grid.
