The Design and Application of a Cyber-Physical System for Condition Maintenance in Smart Grid
Condition maintenance technology is widely used with the development of smart grid at present. As the major part of condition-based maintenance, the local detection needs to transfer a great amount of data, including important equipment information,to the control center for real-time analysis and fault diagnosis. However, none of special wireless systems are available for the communication in substations so far. This paper proposes a wireless mesh based cyber-physical system with a router-oriented optimized linking strategy.Providing a reliable and convenient method for wireless communication, this system is able to support various types of mobile detecting devices without changing the hardware or software in any substation. The system has been implemented to transmit images taken by infrared cameras in a 500 kV smart substation in Shanghai. The test results show that the system satisfies the requirement of condition maintenance in smart grid.
