A Novel DC Offset Cancellation Method for Constant On-time Control Buck Converter
Constant on-time control has been widely used for power supply controllers owing to its fast transient response. However,it often suffers from the DC offset problem in regulating output voltage.Digital smart meter circuit contains DC/DC voltage regulation circuit, and needs high precision of output voltage of regulation circuit. This paper proposes and analyzes a constant on-time control buck converter with offset cancellation by using the slope of the inductor current. With offset cancellation,it can improve the accuracy of its application in the detection equipment. Finally, circuit simulation verifies that the novel method is accurate under a relatively larger equivalent series resistance (ESR) of the output capacitor while retaining the fast and stable transient responses performance of the conventional scheme.
