Researchon Social Inclusions of New Citizens in Megacities and Correlative Factors——Taking Shanghai as an Example
In order to explore the social inclusion of new citizens in megacities, the data of 269 question-naires of new citizens in Shanghai were collected and analyzed. The social inclusion level of each sample was counted by combining various indicators, and the influencing factors were analyzed by Ordered Probit regression model. The empirical results show that there is no significant positive correlation between age and the level of social inclusion in terms of individual characteristics, and the impact of current Shanghai house-hold registration on social inclusion is more significant than that of the area where new citizens are originally located. In terms of personal ability, the social inclusion of new citizens is positively correlated with income and educational background, with a weak correlation with occupational attributes. Finally, based on the a-nalysis results, the paper makes several suggestions on polities of improving the housing security system and discounts for house-purchasing,encouragement of continuing education while employed, simplification of household registration policies and so forth.
