The Production Mechanism and Governance Connotations of Local Cultural Capital in Historic District from the Perspective of Space Production:A Case Study of Shijia Hutong in Beijing
Based on the analytical framework of spatial production and cultural capital, this paper conducts an in-depth study of the case of Shjia Hutong in Beijing to explore how cultural capital is reproduced through space. The study finds that:1)Spatial practices and community cultivation facilitate the redistribution of spa-tial power and the reproduction of representational spaces, laying the spatial foundation to produce cultural capital;2)Through the producers and consumers of cultural capital, using space as a medium, cultural cap-ital has undergone a"specific-objective-specific"transformation,this mechanism itself is the form of the in-stitutional cultural capital. At the same time, space can be upgraded from representations of space to socially representational spaces.3)The production of local cultural capital gives historical and social significance to space. As the witnesses and producers of local culture, residents are important subjects for creating differenti-al spaces and reproducing urban rights.
